Diana and Michael Richardson are pioneers of the “Slow Sex” movement and founders of The Making Love Retreat which they have been teaching since 1995. For more than 20 years, they have helped thousands of couples just like you, change the way they make love.
They have also written books on sex, intimacy and love. In the DVD “Slow Sex - how sex makes you happy” you get a view into the material that lays the foundation of the successful books and retreats created by them.

Who is the retreat for?
Please read this.
Does the retreat include nudity or sexual activity in group sessions?
No. All group work takes place in a respectful and safe environment. It is less about technique and more about approach. There will be dedicated private time for each couple to explore the suggested ‘love keys’ in the privacy of your own room.
Will this save our relationship?
We do not offer the solution for all your problems. There is no quick fixes or techniques. What we personally noticed, and what we have heard from others, is that once you learn to relax in lovemaking, communicate and start to become more aware, tolerance, understanding and compassion increases and there is a shift away from the personality, emotions and problems of the past, and through sex deep healing and joy becomes possible.
Some couples have attended Making Love Retreats in a last effort to save their relationship, and through the teachings, and a different understanding of sexuality, some of them have found new hope. It has planted a new seed for love to blossom once again. Whether you continue to nourish, protect and water the seed so it comes into full bloom is up to you.
Are there any specific requirements we have to fulfill to participate?
No. We all have similar sexual conditioning, and this conditioning is the root of the difficulties people encounter in sex. You will be surprised at the similarities in the problems we all experience. The retreat is giving you a different view on sexuality and intimacy. Being open to question what you already know, and curious to explore yourself, your partner and your relationship is great.
Can we participate more than once?
Absolutely! Deepening intimacy and love is a process. It takes time to integrate the teachings fully, and each time you will notice something new that enriches your experience. It also gives you the opportunity as a couple to have a full week together and explore the ‘love keys’ further without distractions. We welcome couples who have participated in retreats held by Diana and Michael Richardson, or other approved teachers of The Making Love Retreat.
Why is this retreat only for heterosexual couples?
Any two people can benefit from the approach of conscious, slow sex and this can help you deepen your connection.
However, in the retreat we work within our own experience and talk a lot about the penis and the vagina, and how they come together. The material is based around the polarity of male and female, and in its current form is not suitable for same sex couples.
Can one of us join the retreat later in the week, or leave earlier?
It is essential that both of you participate in the retreat from the beginning to the end. We share the ‘love keys’ gradually and sequentially throughout the week which then gives you the opportunity to explore them in the privacy of your own room. Taking part in the daily teachings, as well as the bodywork, allows for a seed to be planted that opens you to a new understanding. From here the change you want can happen.
I would like to attend the workshop, but my partner is not really interested. What should I do?
We recommend you to read “Slow Sex” by Diana Richardson and also the specific books written for each gender - “Tantric Orgasm for Women” and “Tantric Sex for Men.”
Explore the suggestions for yourself. Notice what happens when you become more relaxed and present. Your partner will most likely start to notice the change happening in you. Ask them if they would be willing to read the book and start a dialogue to explore the topic.
We also recommend to watch the film “Slow Sex - how sex makes you happy, a new style of loving”
I've lost interest in sex altogether - not sure this is for me?
This is a completely new approach to making love. One that takes us away from our conditioning and into listening to the body. The focus is relaxation and awareness, where we let the bodies ‘speak’ - not a performance oriented style of achieving a specific outcome.
The exchange of energy between the genitals and how we perceive this when we tune into it, leads into a feeling of deep enjoyment. It’s not an overnight process, though, and it doesn’t rely on technique - it’s a new understanding of sexuality that leads to a new approach in making love.
This exploration is first and foremost about connecting to you and finding out what feels good in your body.
What if we sign up and something comes up?
We understand that sometimes we can’t keep our commitments. Cancellation costs will depend upon the timeframe within which we receive your cancellation, as this affects our being able to fill your place, since the retreats are small and specialized. Please read the Terms & Conditions to see the specifics.
